Almost 20 lathers later and it suddenly broke in.

Yesterday's shave was outstanding.

I wasn't waiting for it to break in. It happened and I noticed.

I can finally say there's a difference between chubby 3 Manchurian hair and M&F finest.

For the first 19 lathers it was sort of similar to the Manchruian in terms of scritch and lack of cloud-like softness.

But the 20th lather was something else. It glided over my face and felt softer than any other time I used it or the chubby 3 Manchurian.

I'm glad it made the change. That's pretty much been my experience with NOS Finests, although they usually have softened by about the tenth or twelfth shave.

Went through the same thing with a larger M & F Finest, but mine is still a bit stiffer/scratchier than my Manchurian CH3. Nonetheless, it was worth the wait; I really like mine now and I didn't like it at all when it was brand new.

Sounds pleasant.

My Omega 49 did something similar. It was trundling along, adding a few split hairs every shave. Then last time I used it, it's like the end of the thing exploded.
