Here was a basic break it down, sand, polish and put it together again.
I thought the scales were straight black until I refinished them. They have a beautiful translucent brown and black mottled look with some areas translucent.
It's a beautiful blade that took a beautiful edge. And to think the guys wife had it sitting in the basement with items from her family.

I've never seen a razor from them that big- very nice! excellent work- glad it doesn't have neon green scales now! you brought it back to its former glory with class!

That blade looks pure class with the gold colour spine detail. What size is the blade? It looks to be a good size...

@ Razor Emporium,, yup,, those scales might have their place somewhere, but not on a piece like this in my estimation.

Mike,, it qualifies as a big one at a full 8/8. I can't wait to try it tonight. I have a feeling I won't want to send it back!

I had not seen that type of spine on that large a razor before. Thanks for making it ready for another couple hundred years.
