Gentlemen, my custom Rudy Vey/WSP chubby has arrived! I call it my "Chubby 4" (I hope Mark doesn't mind me calling it that, obviously it's not a genuine Simpson's chubby.) Actually, hint...hint Mark, I would love a Simpson's chubby 4 in three band. :-)

Those who know me, know that the Simpson's Chubby 3 in three band super is my true love in the brush world. The custom had to have the same shape and height as the CH3, but thicker...much thicker. I originally set out in search for a 32-34mm knot, but TGN only offers very bulbous knots in the large sizes and I don't personally care much for the shavemac knots, ymmv of course regarding both Shavemac and TGN. There was only one solution, Lee's HMW in 28mm! To be honest, this is the hair I wanted from the beginning, but I was looking for something a tad larger originally. In the end it turned out better than I had imagined. Here are the specs...

Rudy Vey:
Custom Chubby "4" handle in Moonjava.
52.27mm width
48.44mm height

Lee (Wet Shaving Products):
28mm HMW three band knot
Actual knot size is 29.76mm set at 52.44mm loft.

What can I say, it is everything I was hoping for and more. A short, gigantic chubby stuffed with some of the best badger hair available today IMO. The test face lather was pure luxury. Zero scritch and plenty of backbone. Loading Trumpers Rose soap was a breeze and there was enough lather for 5 passes.

My genuine thanks go to Rudy for an impeccable custom handle and wonderful patience and service to go along with it, and to Lee for sourcing some phenominal HMW hair and for hand picking me a spectacular knot.

Here are some pics for your enjoyment gentlemen! BadgerBadger

I have a feeling this is a brush one would find in Crocodile Dundee's nook. Interesting choice in size and color, the merging of the resins makes for some cool effects in the handle. Congrats on the new brush!

Oh, good. I'm not the only one that thinks it looks like one of those big fancy lollipops.

Agreed! It definitely adds some color to the brush family.

Thanks Teiste. Mike's natural soap is on deck tonight so we will see if it cowers at the site of the new chubby. Tongue

Yes, it is pretty big Celestino. The huge lollipops actually never came to mind before you mentioned it. It looks more "retro" to me. It is an interesting handle for sure.

Jeremy: That handle looks like it might be even bigger than the handle on "The Beast" which is 52mm at the base and 58mm high.

The base of mine measures 52.27mm, so it is just a smidge thicker. Your beast is much taller, I stayed with the Chubby 3 height of 48mm.
