Santa Maria Novella Emulsione Analcolica

Product Description

Astringent, refreshing and soothing, this emulsion helps combat the effects of razor burn with its olive oil, witch hazel extract and elastin formula. Good especially for sensitive and irritated skin. Apply after shaving on face and neck area. Can be used with our without a moisturizer.

Well, this is the product you need when or if you get razor burn with either your DE or Straight Razor. The fragrance is between wood and citrus and very pleasant. The feeling on your face is warm, and it does not leave your face slimy with a oily feeling.

The balm itself is very concentrated and just a very small amount will give you all you need.

This product is expensive but it works well. This is the type of product that you need to have for those special situations/occasions.

The best place I have found to buy the complete Santa Maria Novella mens product line is, Lee’s Safety Razors.

Thanks for the review Johnny. Do you find this product to be a better healer than other balms you've used? Do you think it's better than the Speick Balm?

Sounds pretty nice. Can you tell if it has eucalyptus or not?

Thanks for the review Johnny and yes Lee has the full range, but due to contractual obligations he cannot ship Santa Maria Novella products outside of the US...

Thank you for the Review Johnny. I considered picking this up from Lee when I placed my Santa Maria order last month. I may have to give it a try!

It has more healing properties and smells better than the Speick Balm, but it does not moisturize as much as the Speick Balm.

I do not detect any eucalyptus and the label on the box does not say anything about eucalyptus.

Excellent. Having a eucalyptus allergy in the house can make buying Italian shaving products an adventure. Dodgy

The more I use this, the better I like it. This could easily become my favorite balm/emulsion except for one thing, the price.

I just picked up a bottle of this at the SMN shop in DC (yes! there is a Santa Maria Store in DC!). I hadn't read Johnny's review when I bought it, but I'm familiar with the SMN line, and I was able to sample it at the store. I previously held off getting it because I had read a review that said it smelled like their Melograno AS. But in sampling the Emulsione, I found it more resembles the Russian Cologne AS, which I use and enjoy. I think the Emulsione smells fantastic - citrusy and classic. I'm looking forward to trying it out tomorrow!

First use this morning: I am very pleased with this purchase. The Emulsione goes on light and soothing. As the "analcolico" indicates, this lotion imparts no sting whatsoever. Unlike most of my other lotions/balms, the Emulsione has a slight astringent effect and leaves your skin feeling clean and tight. I see this as a lotion for guys that prefer a splash, and particularly good for guys with normal to oily skin types. If you have dry skin, you'd do best to sample some before buying. It might work great for dry skin, but that's not me. I also look at this lotion as a perfect warm weather balm. It's great stuff.
