Question : why Simpson doesnt offer this brush as a regular production one , with best badger , super badger or super badger two band , instead of just pure badger? I have no idea but I will like to know.

Thanks to TexBilly , I had the chance to get one of these Eagle 3 in best badger , and Im , again , very glad I did : this brush is a good as a Duke 3 best badger , with a different handle : a handle , which , by the way , have surprised me more than I thought due to its ergonomic design.

For what I understand (and Mark could correct me if Im wrong) , this handle shaped was created by Mr David Carter , after he took over Simpson's , and Vulfix decided to keep it after they bought the company from Mr David Carter. What I dont know if the Eagle was offered in the past with more badger hair options , as a regular production brush , but I havent been able to find that info , so I guess it was only offered in pure badger too.

This brush has a 23 mm knot , a 48 mm knot and a total height of around 102 mm , basically the same measures of a Simpson Duke 3.

The handle shaped , as I have pointed , is very , very ergonomic.Maybe is not one of the most stylish/elegant handles out there , but let me tell you , that this brush is such a pleasure to hold while making lather on the face.Boy , we are talking about great ergonomic here , so I wonder where did Mr Carter get the idea of a handle shape like this one.

I tried to put a Simpson decal as good as I can , but you can see that its not perfect due to the handle shape.

As a good Simpson shaving brush , this one is extremely well packed with best badger hair.I also will like to know whats the difference between Simpson best badger and other brands quality silvertip hair : this best badger has white tips , and are soft , very soft , like the new Simpson best badger brushes. For me , nothing short than an excellent badger hair.

The tips are soft , but since this is a very well packed with hair knot , and the loft lenght is at 48 mm , the firmness is there , but keeping the natural flexibility of this badger hair (flow) , so we have a good amount of backbone and flow.

For facelathering this brush have surpassed my expectations , and again , I can say its a Duke 3 with a different handle.I think thats a great compliment on my book.Im sure than the Keyhole 3 is basically the same too.

Another great Simpson brush indeed.

I've always liked these.

I think it needs to go stickerless. The creases in the sticker ruin finish for me so I'd rather it not be there.

I need to get some black paint for the lettering of my brush...

Well , to each its own , I guess : these days I prefer 3 band brushes to two band , but the newst two band Simpson's hair is very nice.Do you have pics of your Eagle 3 "blooming"?

Very nice looking handle, and the fact that it's got great Best hair isn't a surprise.

I have seen references a few times to this brush only being available in pure, so how does one go about getting a Best or Super?

Boy, that is a very fine handle and would love to have one in two-band like German's.
Enjoy the brush, Teiste.

German,

would you be so kind and do a shot of the Duke 3 2-Band and the Eagle 2-band next to ech other in a close up ?

Would like to see the difference in knot size between the two....

I'm debating ordering an Eagle in 2-band, Best and Manchurian (3 Eagles) - but also have a Rover Manchurian Butterscotch in my minds and a Langess 2-band as my future Simpson purchases Tongue
