I got my wife and eldest daughter an ATRA/Vector razor and an Omega Synthetic Brush. What neutral/not masculine smelling cream or soap whose packaging can survive staying in a shower do y'all think would fill the bill. Oh, cost is an object, so no REAL EXPENSIVE recommendations please.

Thanks,
Alan

Check out Prairie Creations soaps. My wife really enjoys her soap from Krissy & will be getting some more from her down the road. We lee the puck in a ziplock XS tub w/ lid. Works really well.

Mama Bear's Soaps has a lot of good options that are feminine or gender neutral. My wife and daughter both like the Lilac and Lavender.

RazoRock's La Famiglia soaps and the Artisan line have some good options and won't break the bank. Cumba Cheech is neroli and jasmine, very pretty. Caprician Lemon and Don Marco are both fruity. Napoleon's Violet is well regarded.

I've been using Klar Kabinett lately. Has a really pleasant rose scent, and performance is top notch. I think it's pretty reasonable, but I can't be sure.

+1 with the Klar K. Received a double bar as a Christmas gift. Very nice soap.

Mama Bears has an enormous scent line. You could pick out exactly their favorite scents. There very easy soaps to lather for a newcomer to wet shaving as well.

Not sure what you mean about surviving in the shower. Agree with the Klar Kabinett (which I love). If you are looking for a waterproof tube, try TOBS Rose cream - wonderful scent and good performance.

Kiss My Face. Its available at most health food stores, is cheap, comes in a large pump bottle, and smells good.

There are actually quite a few IMO, the KlarKab' is one, VDH would be another it's about as neutral a scent as you'll likely find and it's dirt cheap. MWF, Provence Sante Verlain, de Vergulde Hand extra fris, Speick (tube), I don't think of those as being either masculine or feminine. Then there are the various Almond croaps.

The packaging being what you want for all of those above. The Inexpensive and shatterproof ziplok xs size lidded bowls are perfect for the shower IMO.

Why not have them take a scent tour of your shave nook and then figure out how to package it for the shower? Would that make sense?

FWIW, glycerine soaps, the VDH already mentioned, and right out of the soap aisle at the supermarket, Clearly Natural melt right into the xs lidded bowl with their scent of choice and work great as shave soap. No reason the bar of CN couldn't be rubbed right onto the skin and lathered like a stick, kept in a soap dish. Many solutions IMO.

My wife just uses bath soap and resists any attempt on my part to get her to use a slicker shaving alternative.

I'll throw in another vote for Mama Bears, so many scents to choose from, it's hard to go wrong. And as long as you don't upgrade to a wooden bowl, they'll already come in a screw top plastic container that will hold up fine being stored on a shelf in the shower.

Really though, anything you find could work, just buy a refill/loose puck of whatever they would like and pick up something like this

I second this. It's what my wife uses. Pump bottle seems to be the best container for the shower and the fact that it's cheap and readily available in brick and mortar stores is a bonus.

I'm going to take a moment to be shamefully stereotyping, but...

You could always get them this chocolate shaving soap.

Any of the above suggestions would work great. Any soap or cream that comes in, or can be repackaged, in a sealed container would do. The choices are only limited by scent preference. Happy Hunting!
