As the poll ask, which do you prefer. If you have not had any experience with any of these three, well, learn like I do.Smile

Starting it off with my trusty Progress (though my new Futur is getting some attention).

I have 2 Futur razors (one Gold and one Satin), a Vision and a Mergress en route. So my experiences thus far are limited to the more sizeable Futur and huge Vision.

I love both of these razors. I find the Vision extremely comfortable to hold and a truly wonderful shaver. The only area I feel let down by this razor is it requires extra effort to reach the difficult areas under the nose.

The Futur performs equally well and is more manoeuvrable and for this reason I rate it as the best. Further, it is less expensive and requires no maintenance.

I would be curious to know if those who favor the Futur over the Progress have a preference for aggressive razors.

I prefer a more effective (others might say aggressive) razor. I usually also prefer a shorter handle. However, I really enjoy both the size and weight of the Futur and Vision.

I prefer the Futur over the Progress by the narrowest of margins. I use the Futur at 2.5, and the Progress at 3. The Futur is a bit more efficient and once you figure out how to get it under and around the nose, it's easily one of the best shavers around.

Well, I have the Progress and love it. I even prefer it to my Gillette adjustables - the Progress just shaves better and smoother.

The others (Vision and Futur) never catch my eye, aesthetically speaking.

I have had several Progress razors and a Futur. I even had a Vision. The Progress is the simplest to use and has just about zero maintenance.

Dave, this is my experience as well - my usual setting on the Futur is 3-3.5 but 4-4.5 on the Progress.

I give a slight edge to the progress over the Futur. My only beef with the futur is the fact the cap can be wiggled back and forth changing how the blade sits.

A long handled Mergress is probably in my futur (no pun intended).

My preference used to be for the Futur but I recently rediscovered the Progress and I am loving it! The Vision? Well... I sold my vision after owning it for a couple of months. Too honking big

From a handeling perspective the Vision is a total joy. The handle fits my hand perfectly. It is very well balanced.

The head? OMG it's so honking huge and is one of the two drawbacks for me. The other being my anal-ness and the act the VISION marker never lines up the way you would expect.

I love my Merkur razors, but have yet to try any of their adjustables. I think the Progress will be the first on my list, even with its unsightly plastic knob.

Progress, by far.
To be fair, i have not used the Vision, but the Progress is small enough to be very maneuverable.
It is a treat to use and i find it secures the blade much more firmly than the Futur. i find the Futur to be a bit to large and much, much more aggressive. i can not use it over the #1 setting and the blade always seems to be loosley cutting my whiskers. Also, i actually really like the plastic knob. i just wish it were similar to the vintage knobs. i find the vintage Progresses much smoother in their mechanism even though they are a bit longer, overall.

Gentlemen,
Make mine the Progress. The Futur and the Vision get a big shrug from me. I am not all that crazy about the Progress either, even though it's a fine razor and I have used it off and on for years.

That is true. My vintage Progress is impossible to fit on one of that modern Merkur travel boxes - only on the vintage boxes (significantly different than the modern ones).

I have tried the Futur and the Progress and the Progress is the only one I still have. Razor designs that are going for a blade on a stick efficiency I do not enjoy. I use straights and OC DEs most of the time, but I do like the Progress. Smooth shaver, lots of feedback and flexible. I too like the plastic knob.
