Hi guys, just looking to see if anyone uses the 4711 Eau de Cologne Splash as an aftershave. I have been using the 4711 Aftershave but am about to run out and am thinking of getting the Eau de Cologne version instead. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

I can not tell any real difference. The spray can be handy if you get that version.
Enjoy!

The cologne or splash work fine as an aftershave, used the cologne that way daily for years.

What is the difference between an Edc and an aftershave?

I use 4711 cologne as an AS quite often. It goes very well with D.R. Harris Arlington and most other citrus based soaps and creams I have.

I think technically it has to do with the intensity of the scent. A slightly less concentrated cologne can be called an aftershave. I have Polo aftershave that's like this.

Now, the difference between EdC/EdT and a *good* aftershave would also be the presence of skin care ingredients, IMO.

At the least you could cut the cologne with a small amount of witch hazel if the cologne seems a little strong as an AS.

I tried it once and once only. It was a foot stomping burner for me. I think 4711 has a high alcohol content.
