Gentlemen:

If I had but one straight razor, it would be the Le Grelot in horn (I know, I know I have Puma, Friodur, Schulze and other fancy names, but none tucks as perfectly in my hands as the Le Grelot, and none shaves me better). So . . .

If I had but one straight razor, it would be the Le Grelot in horn . . .
But one strop, it would be the Neil Miller Shell Cordovan . . .
But one hone, it would be the humble Norton 4/8 . . .
But one DE razor, it would be the Gillette Aristocrat . . .
But one DE blade, it would be Super Iridium . . .
But one shave brush, it would be the 22 mm Thater silvertip . . .
But one soap, it would be the celestial Martin de Candre . . .
But one cream, it would be the intoxicating Xpec original . . .
But one pre-shave, it would be Castle Forbes . . .
But one scuttle, it would be Moss (I face lather) . . .
But one Alum, it would be Osma . . .
But one witch hazel, it would Thayers Super Medicated with Aloe Vera . . .
But one aftershave balm, it would be Castle Forbes . . .
But one aftershave lotion, it would Spanish Leather by Truefitt & Hill . . .
And on a cold and snowy day, a bowl of beef stew, a chunk of crusty French bread and a bottle of Rhone wine . . .

And you, gentlemen? If you had but one . . . ?

Straight razor - While I basically just use this one straight razor identified only by a Platipus stamp, the Filarmonica is a strong contender. I really prefer the stainless steel ones. But quite honestly, except for the decoration, they're just a tool and they all work.

Strop: Tony Miller Horsehide & Linen. Perfection.
Hone: Coticule, but much prefer having a whole set
Brush: The E7 I have is pretty darn good. But then again, the Stubby is also great.
Soap: MdC
AS: KBF works for me. But to be honest, alcohol + water works for disinfection for me. Just doesn't feel as good.

Other than soap, straight razors, and brushes, I really don't have multiples of anything.

Hmmmmm. food for thought...

Straight Razor.. At the moment, Nichiri's Rikishia, but the Dorko 42 is coming on strong.
Strop.. Easy, Neil Miller's Burgundy Bridle. I've never tried Neil's shell, but I'm in the process of remediation in that regard.
Hone... My "can't miss" La Dressante
Brush .. Simpsons "Ehsan"
Soap .. Easy, Mitchell's Wool Fat
Cream?? Not so easy.. Perhaps Castle Forbes Lavender
Pre Shave... Hot Towels
Alum... Bloc Osma
Witch Hazel... generic over the name brands
Splash... D.R. Harris Sandalwood .. I'm in love!

But one hone.....my vintage Belgian coticule combo stone. Best all around hone, and better yet, I found it at an antique store for $5 several years ago!
