Gentlemen, I am a big fan of Shavettes.
Straights I don't use often, because I prefer the feel of the Shavette. Unfortunately Shavettes have often a loveless handle...
Except of course the KAI's and Feather AC's, that I love!
I have some time ago a idea, to making new handle on it.

And my last work, finished today....
Probably, the best Italian Shavette, the Universal Lama Intera (L.I.). A Shavette for complete blades. Much weight and really big.

I have also changed the handle at a Miraki. Unfortunately, I have make no picture of it.

I hope you like them Smile

Those look awesome! Did you do the scales yourself? I have a couple of Parker shavettes that the plastic scales broke on. I have a friend of mine make me a set of scales out of wood. It is basically a single piece of wood with a single slit on one end where the blade arm is attached. I too enjoy the shavettes and the ease of use.

I love seeing stuff like this Biggrin
I had thought about rescaling my Feather SS, but the funky green scales have really grown on me, a stark contrast to the vintage razors it lives with.

If I only used shavettes, and had a bunch like you do, I'd definitely try something like this Thumbup

Which of these shaves the best? Have you tried the Parker SR1 barber razor? They have a stainless handle with some nice detailing and shave very nicely.

Yes I have tried this Shavette. A good Shavette, but I sold it.
I like all these Shavettes because they shave all very good.
The Dovo I use only with long blades.
But my current favorite is the Italian Shavette - alongside the Feather AC's and KAI's. It's really big and has a lot of weight.

No, my friend, I haven't made myself. The gray scale, I have to shorten for the Dovo. I bought the scales and the rivets and then I have changed it.

Meanwhile, it's hard to find it. I've also read that it is no longer produced.
One I've found here...

The "Adresso" is a simple Dovo Shavette (Dovo Tortoise Shell).
I changed only the scales and I chose this bright with the Adresso logo. I liked the color very and I wanted transparent scales for the
"Dovo Tortoise Shell".

I think it is great that you've replaced some shavette scales -- Everyone doesn't really think to do it because they are so cheap... but fact of the matter is, some people REALLY enjoy shavettes, and I think making them a little nicer by putting on a new handle is a good idea!!

I've done a few too:

Really changes the feel of a shavette!!

Great work Shocked
You're absolutely right. I have some straights, but I prefer the feeling of the Shavette on the skin. This has nothing to do that it is cheaper. It's just the feeling that appeals more.
I think Shavette will be underestimated. And yes, change the scales changes absolutely the feel of a shavette.
