Hey guys,

Out of every safety razor I have tried, my absolute favourite is still my first; the DE89. I have been considering getting a new handle for it in the future (birthday is coming up in a few months) so was wondering which handle you guys would recommend. If there was one you could choose which would it be?

Love my weber bulldog handle with EJ razor head (my travel razor). Really gives a superior grip/control.

Cheers for the input mate. I love my EJ razor (prefer it over the slim, flair tip, red tip, and FatBoy). Only other razor I use is my Le Grelot.

I would consider a UFO Tornado or Kaiser Short. I used a DE89 head on both last week and really like the extra weight and grip of the handle paired with the DE89 head.

Weber Heads work well with the UFO handles as well

Also check out the handles from ELITE...they are available in many different varieties and 2 lengths (3 1/4 and 3 7/8)...quite reasonable and shipped quickly.Smile

Prefer stainless steel handles, but thanks for the suggestion.

I just received a Sabi T2 razor. I took the handle and put it on my EJde89. It's a stunner. Also, the weight of the T2 handle itself is 75 grams. It's made the EJde89 a beast.

UFO Goliath. If you want to see what it would look like check out our SOTD thread. Then look for Teiste's recent pictures. He has pics of the stainless UFO Goliath with an EJ Head.

UFO Goliath in 316 Stainless

Excellent handle, thick and substantial in your hand and the best non-slip knurling I've ever felt on a razor handle without being sharp/grippy.

I use my DE89 with a Tradere (2d gen) handle. It really makes it a great shaver. The Weber Classic also works well. I've found that I don't really like Bulldogs. I use a Feather, a Pils, and my DE89/Tradere-I tend towards longer handles.

+1. The Weber is takes the DE89 and makes it a great razor IMO. Money well spent.

You should consider one of the UFO handles. Rafael makes some amazing handles. The Brass and Red Bronze are beautiful.
Here for your viewing pleasure: Smile

Why does Weber not make the black coated heads anymore? I thought they looked fantastic.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I think I will try and get a Weber Bulldog handle as the UFO just seems wayy to large for my hands.

While the Bulldog is a fine improvement for the EJ head, I prefer the extra length of the Weber Classic.

Any Weber handle, whichever you choose, is a great bang for the buck!

That Sabi T2 looks great. How does it shave? The handle would beef up the ED89.
