Can't really tell that well from pictures, but how would one classify Duke knot shapes as by model? Bulb, fan, partial fan? Interested mostly in Duke 2 and Duke 3. Thanks!!

Ah! Forgot that hair type might impact knot shape! Thanks, Claus, for the reminder. Probably I am mostly interested in "best" shapes.

The Isle of Man (Vulfix) Simpsons appear to be more rounded than the Somerset Simpson's were.

I just used my Duke 2 in Best. I would call mine a hybrid knot, but it tends to act more like a fan in use. As with anything Simpson, I think the Best knots vary in shape.

Simpson's brushes vary from brush to brush. Overall, the three bands tend to be a hybrid fan/bulb with the two bands being more bulbish. The "Jubilee" however is more of a fan shape... Once again, there is a lot of variance from brush to brush. When you do place your order, be sure and let the vender know your preferences. Most are willing to hand pick you the more fan or bulb shaped brush according to your needs.

Dukes in best are hybrids.

Dukes in 2 band are bulbs.

Dukes in Manchurian are fans.

That's broadly speaking, there is variation from brush to brush. I quite like the hybrid feel and the way it works. Bulbs IMO look the best.
