for you gents that have ultra sensitive & dry skin like myself, what creams seem to work wonderfully for you?

I just cracked open a new tub of T&H no. 10 that my friend's friend brought over from England when she was here in PA a few weeks ago and it appears that my skin might not like. I've got a small burning sensation on my cheeks and there's a fair amount of red dots in that same area as well.

I know it's not the brush because I've been using the same badger brush for the past 2 months now (NF 2201).

Have you tried Simpson's Luxury shaving cream? It's unscented, and works really nicely.

Thumbs up on the Jermyn St. Great stuff.

I'd also recommend MdC unscented.

I too have sensitive skin. Unfortunately Simpson's cream gives me a rash. Shame. I find that La Toja and Proraso work great.

+1. Grate a Speick stick into a bowl and use it that way; I find the soap better than the cream, although I love that, too. Oddly, with the cream, if you leave it unlathered in a warm scuttle or bowl, it hardens. Maybe it's the beeswax ( I think it has beeswax, wait, I'll just check that....yep it does). I'd have thought warming it would have had the opposite effect? Thoughts?

I have speick cream and a stick.

I'll have to give that another go once I confirm that my skin is indeed breaking out from the T&H no. 10

When my skin feels like it has taken a beating, I use either Speick Cream or Stick, and Speick After Shave Lotion for at least 4-days in a row. I also use the Speick After Shave Balm. All that is very healing for the face plus you get a great shave and smell good.

Spencer & Devon is a really nice cream, too, contains shea and salicylic acid, and comes in an unscented variety.

after I give the T&H another try or two, I'll give speick a try for a while.

Another thumbs up for Jermyn ST. But I would put Barbon right there with it as far as creams go.

That said, there is nothing that is easier and more moisturizing to my face than MWF. Of course I don't have a lanolin allergy. MdC unscented is a close second for me though and not really far behind. The hardest on my face has been Klar Kabinett when it was fresh. Aired out for a couple months it doesn't turn my face red but it still tingles a bit.

If you aren't completely set on creams, and can handle shea butter and cocoa butter okay, I also suggest:

Mystic Water for sensitive skin
Strop Shoppe special edition unscented.

I just sold off just about ever soap I own because I prefer creams to soaps.

I'd recommend Simpsons Luxury Cream too, it's good stuff. If you want to try something on the cheap that you might find locally, give Kiss My Face a try. Despite the fact you have to apply the cream to your brush via pump dispenser, it's a very good performing cream.
