I'll be candid and say it is going to take a bit more time before the formula is ready to have free sample sent out, maybe a week or two. For now I thought it might be fun to see who can guess the scent I have been working on. If I were smart I would have just been a mime and keep my mouth shut until it is actually ready but NOOOO, I had to get a jump on matters! It hasn't been easy and it STILL isn't easy but we are getting there, rest assured.

Well, there you have it. The paragraph above contains enough information for you to guess the scent of the new Captain's Choice aftershave. Go ahead, reread it and look for a clue in there somewhere as to the soon-to-be forthcoming brand new aftershave. What will it be? There is BAY RUM, the second is CAT O' NINE TAILS and the third... ???

Take a guess and let's see how good you are!

Mime scented? Though Im not sure that will be jumping to the top of the best seller's list.

I'm trying to figure out where mimes lead to aftershave, but unless it's something like French Lavender, I have no idea.

I'm gonna go with what others have said and guess "Lime".

Whatever it is, I'm anxious to give it a shot. I've really enjoyed your Bay Rum, as well as the sample of "The Cat" you sent me last week.

After reading the paragraph several times I would have to concur with some of the members by guessing as Lime scented BR. If that is the case then I'm in trouble yet again and will be adding another Captains Choice A/S to the den! Love both the original and cat o nine tails....wonderful, soothing and incredible smelling a/s.

A fellow gets pulled over for a traffic stop on the way to work in the morning, or heading out for a night on the town, all reeking of Jack Daniels or something, and the officer says, well sir, how many drinks have you had? Probably not the ideal fragrance. I'll guess that my guess is wrong.Smile

Time is UP!

We hope to start a new thread for volunteers to sign up in about two weeks. Lime is not an easy scent to work with so this is taking some time but I want to do it as best I am able before sending it out on test.

Stay tuned...

It has been nearly another week and in an effort to keep you all updated here is the latest. To be clear, this is not a bay rum and lime, it is a straight up lime. Progress has been made - never fast enough for me but we are getting there. In part the time involved is letting the batches "mature" and then this is followed by the filtering. A specialty aftershave is not something you just throw ingredients into a barrel, mix up and bottle up for sale. Natural ingredients take time to work on each other.

We hope to start a new thread within a week, perhaps a few days. This thread would be for volunteers to sign up. Honestly, I don't know what to do on the samples. I have way more interest than I can give free samples. An idea might be to have the first ten samples be free and anyone else can also get a sample for $4.00 or thereabouts. The idea, of course, behind the samples is to let me know right here on the public forum or PM if you prefer what you think.

Stay tuned and keep an eye out for the new thread. Thumbsup
