Thought I would stop in and say Hello.

I am a Newbie to the site and a Newbie to wet shaving. I have been lurking for the past month or so and now trying to make my first purchase decisions.

I am in Alberta, Canada - as most of you know the shopping options seem a bit limited up here.

A few of my other hobbies - BBQing (traditional smoking BBQ), traveling, camping

Feel free to point me in the right direction or give your .02 on recommendations for my first safety razor and badger brush.

Welcome to the forum! Most of us are challenged when it comes to B&M stores luckily we have awesome online vendors like Phil at Bullgoose and Joe at Italian Barber. IB is a Canadian based company, but both give great service.

Welcome to the Nook! I would suggest for your first razor an Edwin Jagger DE89. It's a really great razor to start with. It's mild and gives a very smooth shave.

Greetings and welcome!

Online vendors as mentioned above are the most convenient way to purchase and the great byproduct of being a member here is that anything you try and don't end up liking is usually easily sold or traded in the Swap and Shop section (once meeting the less than challenging requirements of course).

Hello There NT... Welcome to The Shave Nook. You can get some great advise here. Check out Vintage razors also. A Gillette Tech razor is a great shaver and can be found for 20 dollars or so on E-Bay or check the Buy/s Sell/Trade thread.

I also love to BBQ/Smoke foods. In one of my past careers I have been A Certified Executive Chef. I learned the fine art of smoking meats when I lived in Tennessee.

Enjoy your stay here on The Nook...Happy Shaves.
