About a month ago I started using up my after shaves one bottle at a time. What was happening is I had multiple bottles open at various levels and it was clogging up my small bathroom space. I just finished a bottle of Old Spice and now working on my Kramperts. After that comes the TOBS, etc, etc, etc. Eventually as I get down to the nips I will order more but only one bottle at a time.

Sometimes I wish I had the discipline to do that but it's impossible for me. I've had a very large aftershave rotation for some time. Of course now I have an excuse at leastSmile.

Hi Jerry

Not being an aftershave person I don't have that exact problem, but shaving creams and soaps, and aftershave balms are a completely different story... this year I've made a similar pact with myself concerning the items mentioned, one balm at a time until finished, three creams or soaps in rotation until finished. Once something has been finished I get to add something "new" in.

Good luck!

Take care, Mike

I think I've drained one bottle each of Speick and Musgo Real, and finished one stick of Valobra in the last two years. That tells you what kind of discipline I have. My rotation is more like a long line. Blush

This can be applied to almost any soft shave gear. I only use one balm at a time and usually have only one bottle/tube on hand. I keep one razor loaded at a time but rotate brushes every 3-4 days. I rotate shave creams every couple of days and they seem to go faster maybe because I am more generous of the amount I use.

I'd never be able to do that. I don't have many aftershaves, only 5 actually, but each one has it's own 'mood' to go with how I'm feeling/what I'm doing that day
(same is true for my handful of soaps)

I try to use up dwindling items so they are simply gone, especially product I am not that delighted with. I am narrowing things down that way. I got the La Toja splash recently and I'm a bit, umm, meh so far.

I fail. I'll take a zero. Just can't do it.

Good luck to you.

I couldn't do it. I've been using one soap all month and that's driving me crazy. One aftershave would push me over the edge.

For 20-years, 7-days a week, 365-days per year I used Mennen Skin Bracer. I still take a splash now and then, but the small half filled bottle sets way back in my after shave storage area.

Since I only use after shave as a healing product after my shave and really don't care much about the scent of it, I could pretty easily go by using only one after shave product, for instance my Clinique Post Shave Healer or my Mühle Aloe Vera AS lotion, both have a very neutral scent - but I own 16-20 different after shave produtcs, balms as well as splashes, and like to rotate them.

BUT with that said, I avoid the stronger scented after shave products because I don't want them to clash with my Eau de Toilette fragrance du jour, which I apply twice a day, morning and evening.

I use Aqua Velva and Afta after every shave. The Clubman and other stank juices are just for scent and are rotated.

I kind of did the same thing with soaps & creams but I limited myself to 11 products, plus occasionally I'll take a couple of days to use a sample, or to use something I'm not sure I want to keep, so if I decide I don't want it, I can get rid of it. In my case, I'll run with these 11 until for 2013, then pull out 10 or 11 "new" products.

If you really want to stick to one product to finish it up but find this difficult, try using different things only on the weekend. That way you make real progress on finishing products and still have a little variety.

Jerry,

That's all I do. I've been using Krampert's finest for the past 2-3 months or so since it works for me.

Same here, no rotation . . . ever. I've decided only to use Mandom Lucido from now on. I love how it makes my face feel, and best of all there's no scent.
