I might buy a Weber razor, but don't know if I should go for a classic or a bulldog handle. What do you prefer/recommend, and why?

BTW, I like both long and short handles. I pick the razor I want to shave with after the mood I'm in Biggrin

I like them both - use the bulldog on my travel razor, classic for my daily shaver.

I voted Bulldog, I had a Classic handle and didn't care for it. I prefer shorter handles for the most part, but the length isn't what I didn't like, it was actually the diameter. It just felt too thin and scrawny in my hand, I have very large hands, so that might be a factor.

Hi Byron

+1 on the Classic handle being too thin.

I personally prefer longer handles (≈100mm), but the Weber Classic handle is at least 2mm undersized in diameter (IMHO).

Obviously the Weber Classic handle is usable, and some prefer the thinner diameter, I just believe it would be a (much) better handle with a couple of extra millimetres around the middle, plus I think the extra couple of millimetres would make it a better looking handle...

Take care, Mike

Hi Øystein

Then I believe the Weber Bulldog handle would make the better option to go with.

Take care, Mike

I think both are wonderful handles and it really boils down to personal preference.

I have found that I prefer shorter handles in general ... so I voted Bulldog ... but of course YMMV!

I prefer the Bulldog. I think its weight makes the lightweight DLC head glide more smoothly.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm leaning towards the bulldog, as the classic sounds very thin.

I have a feather popular that I think has a thin handle. I would not want any handle to be thinner then that handle. Anyone knows if the classic is thinner than the feather popular handle?

The Bulldog has my vote. My preference is for a shorter and thicker handle. I find it provides me with more control and surer grip.

I like all handles bulldog. In fact I like all things bulldogs. Bulldog handles, the British Bulldogs, heck, actual bulldogs! I really wanted to get a bulldog when we got our dog. Instead we got a Boston Terrier, so close enough!

I have both and prefer the bulldog. The larger diameter is just more comfortable for me. If the classic were thicker I would probably lean towards that, just as I prefer the longer handled Merkurs which incidentally have a thicker handle than the Weber classic.

Once again, I am in the minority...

Big fan of the long narrow handles, so I voted Classic. That said, I do have a bunch of Bulldog handles.. The Weber, iKon and ATT. The knurling on the Weber razors is reminiscent of the very early iKon handles.. deep, aggressive..like something I would find in my garage, or on a gun stock. Long or short, Weber knurling is the best of what is currently available.

I own the classic, and yes it's the thinnest handle in my collection, but still think it's a great handle.

I dislike handles shorter than 80 mm, so both the other two Weber handles were not an option, when I bought my first Weber. I prefer handles from 85 mm to 110 mm.

I don't mind that the Classic is thin, because the deep knurlings in the handle still provide for a really solid grip.

So the Classic gets my vote as 75 mm is just too short for a handle for my preferences.

Thank you all for the inputs on the Weber razor handle. I ordered the bulldog handle, since I might think the classic handle is too thin for me. And I was also thinking, I can't go wrong with the bulldog handle Biggrin

Sorry to dredge up a long dead thread, I'm just researching these handles and I've found conflicting information about the length of the bulldog handle. One one site it says that it's 3" and another says that it's 3.20"
