Thanks to a very good friend , I got a sample of the new D.R. Harris Eucalyptus shaving cream.Im very exited about it , since Im looking for a replacement of my old Santa Maria La Novella shaving cream , which has only 2 or 3 shaves left (I will always have Proraso , of course !)

Very interesting to read that the cream contains Aloe , as well as Menthol and Eucalyptus oil.I know that Creightons made a Menthol shaving cream , but I dont know if it was for The Real Shave CO or for Natural Grooming (Groomed) brands (I think it was for that last brand) which is well regarded , for what I understand , by wet shavers in UK.

The scent of this cream is more subtle than the Proraso/Santa Maria La Novella shaving creams , and kind of Dovo Eucalyptus , but more "elegant" (Dovo has a very pungent scent).

Looking forward to try it tomorrow and post my impressions here.

I think you will really like it Teiste. I have been very impressed with it. It's right up there with S.Maria for me.

Is it a soft cream, like the other DR Harris creams?

My tub came yesterday from Connaught Shaving, taking about 12 days to arrive. I also ordered a few samples so I'll be getting around to it in the next few days. I do like the nice, light, fresh scent.

So, it lists menthol as an ingredient - very interesting!

I lathered the DR Harris Eucalyptus for today's shave. The performance is as one would expect from DR Harris - superb. The scent was subtle and pleasing. I enjoyed the soft cooling sensation too. The is a wonderful summertime product!

Obviously YMMV, but I'm just really leery of the eucalyptus scent. When I was a kid growing up in the Los Angeles area my siblings and I would throw the cone-shaped eucalyptus fruits at each other, and our fingers would get very unpleasantly stinky from them.

Scent is so much a YMMV-thing.

I drank a bit too much Malibu Rum, mmore precisely I drank 1 ½ ful bottle a matter of 2 hours on a vacation to greece in 1994, and since that I have detested the scent of Coconut.

This is why I was very very late to acknowledge the qualitites of GFT Coconut cream, which everyone and their mother seem to rave about. I now own the tub, but I mix it with other stronger scented cream to tone down the coconut scennt yet still get the great performance qualities of the GFT cream.

As oppose to you, I really enjoy the eucalyptus scent Smile
So think I got to own this DR Harris cream - this will be my 6.th DR Harris cream and they are all better performers than my 4 GFT, my 4 TFH and my 6 TOBS creams, all made by Creighton.

But GFT Coconut and TOBS Avocado as well as TF&H Ultimate Comfort are very very close performance wise to my DR Harris creams.
I sold my DR Harris Marlborough because I thought there was too much cedar and ashtray smell in the cream, but the performance still was top notch.

As summer kicks in I like the cooler creams better. Proraso is the best "wake up!" cream and it has its place if just for that account alone. This one is much more subtle yet plenty refreshing. Compared to proraso, the Italian under the icy-cold cloud has a sweet scent as well. Dr Harris has a distinct eucaliptus scent without the sweetness. While Proraso is very good, I rate the performance of Dr Harris creams a notch or two higher and this one is no exception.
