Anyone have any experience with these or knowledge of who makes them?

I'm in the market for a new brush, and their large Super Badger seems to be calling to me.

I'd love your thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

I'd like to know details about them as well. They seem to be abundant on the bay. If they are re-branded Vulfix/Simpsons, they seem to be a good deal.

About an year ago, there were a lot of "Floris brushes", in best and super, that were sold all over ebay. They featured a Persian Jar-like handle in faux ivory and they seem to be old stock.

They looked like this:

Those are the ones Im talking about , my friend.

I saw them in Madrid back in 2010 and I thought they were Simpon made brushes , since the best and the super badger hair were basically the same that Simpson uses in their brushes.

Maybe the new Floris brushes are made in China , but I haven't seen them yet.

Yup, the one in Emanuel and Teiste's posts. I ended up taking a chance on one before seeing Mark's comment.

Got the "large" super. Fingers crossed for positive results.

Also, any further info would be greatly appreciated. "Cheaper foreign imports" covers pretty much every other brand/manufacturer (excluding Plisson).

Thanks everyone.

I have always wondered where the term "Manchurian" came from...Is there somewhere other than CHINA where Manchurian Hair comes from? Don't get me wrong...I LOVE my Simpsons Brushes, my Dowglas 57 is superb and so is my newly acquired Simfix Grosvenor in 2-band. Makes me want to buy many more...

I'm not trolling, I would really like to know.

Edited for Context***

I think Mark cleared that up already with a rather resounding: "No!" Biggrin

Yes , but I dont know if he means the current Floris brushes , or all in general.Like if you ask for current Geo F Trumper brushes , and the old ones...

And in the case that are "cheaper foreign imports" , what is that "Handmade England" stamped on the brush all about then ? HuhHuh

Yes, now I see Teiste. My Floris was purchased at least 2 years ago and is stamped "Handmade England"

Well , assembled is not closed to handmade (at least , on my book).

Anyway , lets see what Mark have to say regarding this.

Assembled by hand ... ?

I believe it is a way around things, but I'm only guessing (and certainly NOT endorsing) ...

Otherwise there aren't too many English based brush makers ... Only leaves ... Tongue
