MdC arrived today.

I was shocked. The box was huge. 40cm wide, 30cm high and 30cm long.

Now I know why postage is so expensive. The damn box they use is too big. I'm all for appropriate packing but this is overkill.

Anyways, onto the photos:

Picked up a couple of soaps to try , I may order more in the future if I like them

Packaging overkill: you can easily easily load 3 of my orders in that same box without thinking twice.

Just had a quick shave. Lathers very quickly. Approached it with a wrung out relatively dry brush, loaded for 40 seconds with moderate pressure. Lathered my face, quick dip in (Distilled) water, lather again, another dip, lather and a final dip.  I may give it another 4th dip in the future. For today, it was slick enough with 3 dips. Used the Chubby 3 Manchruian.

Don't complain, it arrived undamaged. Precious cargo inside that box.

If you use that soap everyday you will still have soap at this time next year. I took my wooden bowl and used a kitchen knife to skim off that top layer of soap, put it into a separate ramekin, and used it for several months before I even touched the wooden bowl.

Enjoy

Great pictures, thanks for sharing.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Armenian Paper. I almost bought some of that to try.

Just my thoughts. I like that they care about packaging. Definitely bullet proof.

Good point. I'm rethinking getting a brain bowl. Such a cool item.

Here's the official theme song for the brain bowl:

Relax everyone. I'm not upset about the packaging. Merely using it to explain why postage is so high. some couriers not only do it by weight, they do it by size too. So your parcel may be light weighted by the size of the box raises the price. Hence my point.

SharpSpine,
I'm going to try it today!
We normally fumigate bukhoor (frankisense aka lubaan aka olibanum). And oud wood.

Johnny, why'd you do that?
I lathered directly from Mont Blanc (get it?)

I get it. I just did not like all the slick lather and water running on the outside of the wooden bowl. I did not want to drop it. I did try it from "Mont Blanc" for a few shaves before I shaved off the top layer. Either way it is a great soap.
