Just received my Model 142 Brown & Black Shavemac Finest inspired by Mike and Teiste's review of their Model 142 in faux ivory in Fan shape.
I have yet to rinse and clean mine, but thought I would take a couple of pics of my 3 Brown & Black handles Shavemacs for you to enjoy, as I find they look quite good to be honest
The Flat top is a D01 3-Band, the Bulb-Fan Hybrid is a D01 2-Band and the true fan shape is my recent purchase, which arrived yesterday - a Finest Fan shaped 24 mm knot with 46 mm loft:

To be honest I can't see if my new Finest is Finest hair or 3-band Silvertip hair.
I own 3 Shavemac brushes with 3-band Silvertip hair, 5 with D01 3-Band hair and 5 with D01 2-Band hair, and this Finest hair looks 100% like it is 3-Band Silvertip hair - I'm being honest here.
I can't even spot the blacker Pure hair that supposedly should be hiding inside the Finest knot........this knot is among the most uniform and perfect made knots I have ever seen in a brush.

Claus :
as you , I sometimes cant distinguish between the finest and silvertip hair from shavemac.
I think they are getting a new finest badger hair which is , basically , silvertip quality and excellent quality for the price.
Let is know when you try them , please , and thanks for the pics.

I like them all to be honest - cant say I like one lever the other, they are all great ergonomic wise.
Thanks for all your nice comments, guys

I would originally never order a brown-black colored handle, but a Spanish guy on B&B inspired me with his pictures of his Shavemac brown-black flat top, so I got inspiration from him

I also own a couple of Shavemacs in the Savile Row 3120 shape, and I'm 99% sure Savile Row have both their handles and the hair made by Shavemac - their Silvertip is identical to the best 3-Band Silvertip regular version from Shavemac, I strongly believe.

What a wonderful old thread to bump. With the 2018 LE sold out while I was busting rocks the enabling that was begun must end in SBAD, and this thread will provide a fix to all that. I believe a 142 in Butterscotch 3 band D01 is in the works. Believe I am going to try a 22x50 just for a little twist, maybe even more loft as to lean to the bowl.
Thanks to all the that provided such a wonderful thread, it deserves a bump straight from 2013. there were other worthy historical threads, this one had the info I wanted.
