I've been getting to know this soap recently and am so far absolutely impressed. It's quickly become my favorite veggie soap and its performance is on par - or even better! Cool - than some of my tallow-based favorites. Today's shave was as close and comfortable as I've had in a long time. Thick and creamy lather, plenty of cushion and slickness, and excellent skin care properties. What more do I need?

What say you Nook? Any other IK fans?

Haven't tried it yet, but it's on my list, and it has risen on the list as a result of your review.Tongue

I tried the cream and wasn't impressed. Haven't tried the soap though.

That soap is fantastic, and is one of my top 5. I prefer to use it in winter months as the Shea Butter protects against dry skin.

I thought I read that it has a menthol or similar aspect to it. Is that true?

I used it yesterday thanks to a sample sent to me by MickToley (Mike). Like you, Billy, I was quite impressed. Easy to lather, not drying, pleasant though not strong scent.

Max, if there is a menthol aspect to it, I did not detect any.

Billy, that's a expensive question to be asking around here.

It's a very good soap but I didn't care for the scent.

While it does not get used as often as other soaps in my den, I find it a very good performing soap. As with many other French soaps, it provides excellent skin care, due primarily to the shea butter content.

Yep, no menthol to be found!

It's a great soap but I don't think our fine vendors need to worry just yet. Tongue

Same here. I just happened to finally get around to it - and glad I did!

I do as well but have already figured out a couple of options not requiring milling.

Yes, go for it, you won't be disappointed. French soaps are awesome, and Institut Karité is one of the best of them.

I pulled out my Pre de Provence for this purpose. Need to check whether I still have some Provence Sante. I don't recall the PdP lathering quite so nicely but we'll see.
