Harris Tweed Wash Bag

I was extremely taken with the Tweed Wash Bag from Dr Harris...

It is "hand-made using the finest bespoke Harris Tweed.
This tweed has been weaved especially... by Callum MacLean on the Isle of Lewis."

Well it made it's way into the online cart...
Then I noticed the price...
95 pounds!

Very tweedy! Kind of a unique looking bag...but man that's a lot of cash to drop on a bag.

What a great looking dopp! I never thought of tweed as being a good look on a wash kit, but wow... It is pricey though.

They can be had for £30 to £35 if you shop around, not the DR Harris ones of course but still Harris tweed.

I do like tweed ... but how practical would this be if repeatedly exposed to moisture? Huh

tweed is wool - so pretty repellent to water. with 'exposed to moisture' you mean like washing it or accidentally splashing it with water or general humid bathroom?

I guess I was referring to prolonged humidity as well as washing off inadvertent stains etc. On further thought, I surmise care would be no different than the precautions I take with my leather wash bag. Shy

It would be entertaining to see the looks if I took such an item to the drycleaners though!

How much are they asking for it?

Harris Tweed is tough stuff alright. The fabric was the sporting outer wear of it's day.

Harris from Harris, eh? Definitely not at 95 quid!

What about this? International shipping to USA/Canada for £6.95:
