This was made between 1892 and 1917. When I saw it I wondered when Johnny's birthday is. Biggrin

Eric, now that is a great find. Did you buy it?

I can assure you I was not born between 1892-1917. Actually I was born during 1946.

Ooops ! Sorry Johnny, I wasn't insinuating at your age. I just thought it would be a good birthday present for you. I was in a hurry last night to go out with the bosslady. So a short post was all I had time for.

They had about a dozen old scuttles priced from 20-40 dollars sitting out on shelves. Then this one in a locked case for $125. I about spit my gum out. I figured it was something frome the 1970's.

I showed the picture to a friend who is in the antique business and she said to go for it. It's priced about right and some have sold for $50 more. So when I go back out there I think I will make the purchase. She thinks it is towards the end of production because the very early ones had less area painted pink. where the later ones have more. But 1917 is still fairly old. And Made in Bavaria.

I guess they had a sense of humor back then too Biggrin
