It looks like it still has the same top cap and head plate....

Thought they would change the design so that the Ikon head plate wouldn't work with the Feather topplate Huh

I'm tempted, because I actually happen to have an extra ikon SB head plate lying around doing nothing Tongue

Maybe this Ikon SB in a Feather will actually make the Feather cut some whiskers Biggrin

Anyone who will buy it.......Ben....anyone Cool

Don't know about the top plate, but that bottom plate is different from the D1. Looks like there will be more blade exposure.

Looks nice Claus, but unless it's significantly more effective than it's predecessor I won't be acquiring one. I'll wait for some reviews prior to making a definitive decision however...

I don't think the new Feather has anything to do with iKon. There must be some difference between this razor and the AS-D01 or why would they even bother to produce it.

Unless there is a large difference in blade exposure I don't see why they wasted their timeHuh. From the first reports from those who have shaved with new version there seems to be no difference in how it shaves.

Actually $175 with the stand is a really good price! That combo used to go for about $300.

I have never resiled from my position on these razors. They look nice but they are very average shavers at best IMO. I get a nicer shave from a cheap Gillette Tech and then without having to mess around with silly acute angles. Meh. I'd rather use my money for more interesting pursuits.

They should take a bit off their Feather Artist Club series and apply it to this one. That would liven things up with this DE! Biggrin

Yes, The bottom plate does look a bit different than my AS-D1. I am excited about the AS-D2. Just waiting on US vendor pricing. If it's a slight improvement on the original all the better. I think the Feather is a great work day razor that shines on 24 to 36 hour whisker growth. Any more and out comes the Progress.

It has a different bottom plate and top cap than the AS-D1 and it is doubtful that the IKon SB and OC bottom plate that fit the AS-D1 will fit the AS-D2. Assuming this is correct, it will be interesting to see if iKon produces a matching bottom plate for the new Feather. I'll be very interested to read upcoming reviews of the AS-D2 that should be available soon now that the razor is available in the marketplace.

£210.00 (175.00) << Sorry, absolutely right it's 210 gbp. Not sure why I was focusing on the 175, and why I thought it was usd.
