I got lucky... Cool

I just acquired a Rooney Alibaba Size 3 from Ben74... Biggrin

I always loved that handle design and finally got a hand on this brush that apparently had not been used before. I have a few Rooney 3 bands (mostly the T&H variety) and I was stunned by this older knot: this brush is VERY dense. I can only compare it in density to my GYLE and just short of the density of a Chubby 1 in Super.

The handle is simply beautiful. It is a 22/49mm knot of silvertip/super grade hair. This specific knot has a noticeable glue bump of about 3mm which really gives it 46mm loft. The fan shape slays quite a bit. Due to the glue bump it truly becomes a mushroom when wet.

The tips are soft without a scritch. However, the knot gives you a good scrub when lathering (not cloud soft as a Thäter 3 band would be).

I am really amazed by this knot. The Alibaba will become part of my regular rotation. I am glad I could snatch one up (thanks, Ben!)

Any other Alibaba owners out there to share their experiences...?

I am so pleased you are happy with the Alibaba.

It has been difficult to part with some of my brushes, but it is certainly comforting to know that this one in particular is being enjoyed (and used as it should be).

Thank-you for sharing!
