I'm loving the "Butterscotch" color against the darker hair of the two band finest badger.

Thanks a ton Gary, I have 2 more handles on the way to you soon.

A wonderful butterscotch Eagle handle from master craftsman Rudy Vey.
An excellent choice of knot and expertly set by Gary.
Congratulations on a fine acquisition!
We are all looking forward to some bloom pics! Biggrin

Looks a very ergonomic handle shape, beautifully finished as we'd come to expect with Rudy's work.

Please let us know how she performs moving forward.

Thanks to all for the complements on the knot and loft choice.
The handle was so close to a 24 mm that I slightly expanded the hole and set the ACE Shaving two band at 50 mm. This turned out even better than I expected.

Very nice brush, it is elegant with what appears to be a great knot. Another good example of two fine gents putting together an excellent shaving tool!

Beautiful handle balanced nicely with a great knot. Congrats, Mark and Gary! ACE Shaving is producing some of the choicest knots available, IMO. I have two of their silvertip badgers now and couldn't be happier with the quality.

Took my "GDRV" out for it's first test drive. In a word....SWEET !
1st impression is that it doesn't have as much scritch as a Pure Badger but is not as soft as a Silvertip. It may the the loft that GD set it at (50mm) or it may be the Finest 2 band (IDK) but it has just the right backbone for me (not floppy not stiff).

I'll be adding to my running commentary as I will be using it exclusively over the next month. Suffice to say for now that I am very pleased and that my "GDRV" has taken 1st seat as my brush fav.

Hi

Nice to hear the brush, 2-Band Finest knot from ACE Shaving, performed so well on its maiden voyage

Any chance you could please post a photo showing the post-bloom knot?

Will be interesting to see if you experience, notice the knot softening, opening up a little bit each time you use it, then see if settles down (reaches peak performance after going through a break in period).

Take care, Mike

As promised (4th use) it's blooming and looking almost fully out. It's still nicely firm but getting a bit softer.
