Gents,

I,ve been bit by the Feather Artist Club bug and this Charles Monnisoer Shavette started it all. If anyone is interested in trying it out post here i just ask that you ship it to the next guy. The razor takes injector blades which i will include in the box. I believe this would be best to keep CONUS as its probably not worth shipping a $30 shavette overseas. I'll give it a try! I've tried a shavette that takes DE blades cut in half but not injector blades.

Wonderful PIF Toby. I owned a Dovo Shavette, but never got around to trying it and sold it unused. Your Charles Monnisoer Shavette looks great!

Report: I received the shavette on Saturday. My first impressions are that its a lot nicer than I was expecting. Maybe its because of lack of discussions, but I always grouped it in with a Parker-type shavette, which does have its charms but appears less sturdy than the Monsieur Charles.

Loading is similar to loading a Cobra Classic. While it uses injector blades, you have to take the blade out of the dispenser and slide open the razor. But it slides out nice and evenly and doesn't have as much "play" or loosness as loading a Parker or even the Dovo shavette. Its certainly no Feather AC-system style but I really like that it uses injector blades (which I believe are thicker and stronger than a DE blade).

It shaved really nicely, but strangely doesn't make a lot of "noise." I had really no problem finding the right angle (I've used all the above-mentioned shavettes before and I have used straights, although not terribly successfully). It also shaved "smoother" than my prior shavette/straight experiences; its weightier and I find that's helpful in allowing the razor to "fall" or slide down the face with no pressure. While I'm no expert on shavette/straight shaving, anyone who is thinking about transitioning from DE to straights via a shavette would be smart to give this guy a look.

MondoJ, if its OK, I'm going to give it a couple of days and then get it cleaned up and sent to you. I will PM you for address.
