Has anyone tried the Licorice flavor? I've never tried 'gourmet' toothpastes, and I cannot decide between a couple tubes of Cinnamon or Licorice...

Is it strong? is is medicinal?

Thanks!

I tried the Licorice Marvis. It was moderately strong, not sweet but not really medicinal, fading during each brushing episode. And over the course of several weeks it completely lost its licorice flavor entirely, just becoming faintly bitter. I don't think I'll use it again. I have used the aquatic mint, which is quite good, but I haven't tried the cinnamon.

Really? Flavor fading is an issue...I mean what's the point then Tongue? I'll pick Cinnamon just because my wife loves it. I'm not hyped about mint or the green one, as those are more 'regular' flavors. I'll buy a 3-pack, that's why I wanted to be sure.

Thanks for your input!

Good choice. I am currently using Cinnamon. I really like. I am about half way down the tube and no flavor lost. My wife enjoys it too.
I like aquatic mint. My wife not so much.

I only use the Licorise. I use a tube up in 2 months time and the flavour keeps on being there right to the end.

I'm an anise lover at heart !
I know my anise :)

Did you know that it's made by the same people (Ludovico Martelli, Florence) who make the Proraso soap? It's the oldest Italian cosmetics industry.

Anyhow, the mint one is my favourite.

I finally got the chance to try some Marvis thanks to all of you enablers...
I absolutely love the licorice! A terrific change from the everyday drugstore variety toothpastes. I do wish the flavor lasted longer and it could be more potent when brushing but still, I am very happy with the acquisition.

And now, I need to try every variety. Toothpaste Acquisition Disorder??? Nah, that's going a bit too far IMO. Tongue

They do have small, travel tubes available for all of the flavors. Biggrin About half the price of a full tube depending on where you find them and they can last a while because, as mentioned above, not a lot of paste needs to be used.

The secret to MORE flavour is MORE paste. You only need a little to get the job done, but a little extra equals a taste explosion!

Italian Barber usually has a very good price on Marvis and they do have the sample sized tubes.

I had to post again........

I just cannot get enough of the Marvis licorice.....I look forward to brushing my teeth now. Rolleyes Consequently, because I brush longer and more frequently, my teeth are getting whiter and it's not a whitening toothpaste per se.
