This is an older Shavemac shaving brush I bought in 2008. It's a larger one with a total height of about 130 mm. I asked for a base to have a higher (and more masculineRolleyes) handle. Normally the socle of a shaving brush like this is made of chrome-plated brass. To avoid the heavy weight this one is hand-made out of high polished aluminium. During the years there are some fine scratches which I didn't remove - a sign of age. Shavemac's standard silvertip is imho perfect for a larger, super-soft bulb shape (about 28 mm diameter, 58 mm loft).

A truly fantastic looking brush - if I scuttle/bowl lathered I would try to buy a custom like this.

Since I face lather exclusively, I will just admire this brush from a distance.

Amazing looking symmetrical bulb knot !!

WoW - amazing you prefer such tall handles then
I would say most prefer these type of tall handles for the bowl.

Beautiful brushes! I used to have a bottom heavy brush and didn't like the way it "handled". I wonder if the Al version is available in any of their current offerings. Thanks for sharing!

Billy, it was a build to order. But I assume the machines to shape aluminium are still there.
