Gents,

We've decided to split the Buying & Selling forum into the following new forums, to organize and highlight the various transaction types and make viewing easier for all. I'll be posting some guidelines and rules in each new forum soon. Thanks Nook!

Excellent idea, Billy. It should help streamline both the buying and the selling of gear.

Brilliant.

Nothing worse than seeing a thread for some Holy Grail you've been seeking for years only to realize that it's another wet shaver in pursuit of same.

Thank you.

Oye.....

You had me going there for a while until I found this post.

I was ready to start RANTING and RAVING about my missing WTB posts. Even had my screenshots all loaded and ready to go Dodgy

Gees.... Glad I did not make an bigger IDIOT out of myself than normal.

Double Oye.....

* * * * * * * * * * *

Personal opinion time now...

This will make placing a WTB post rather ineffective as no one will see it unless they decide to sell something and are too lazy to put up a FS post but are not so lazy that they go to this new form Angry

* * * * * * * * * * *

So as to not waste my screenshots..... just saying.....

I agree! I do not create any WTB posts, occasional trade posts maybe... but to someone who is looking for an item and creates a post in that section, this will not be much visible.
Several other places have tried to separate BST and have failed.
Just my 3 cents, don't care either way.

Gents, we get it. But this is not a buying, selling and trading forum - it's a traditional wetshaving forum. If a little more work is required for the occasional pre-sales research, then that's a fair trade off. The many WTBs masked the selling posts that usually complete much faster than most WTB posts.

There it is, right there, gentlemen. Thank you, Billy.

We are trying to do the best we can and while attempting to make 100% of 1,600 members happy, it turns out to be an almost impossible task. That doesn't mean we won't keep trying, though. Wink Thanks for your understanding even if you don't exactly agree. That is the basis for what makes our forum work and it is appreciated. Thumbsup

Mixed emotions but I think I am leaning towards being in favor of it. More than a few times a WTB post sparked my memory of an item I want, I want to sell or I have and completely forgot I have it!

A few extra clicks... No big deal.

Good idea!!!

Classic YMMV!

I prefer the approach that TSN has moved to but another forum has just made the opposite decision recently Biggrin

In case we miss saying what we are all thinking:

Thanks to the mods and admins for all your work!!!! Bow

i also think this is a great idea as there is less clutter and since we all know both of these exist, it won't take much time to look at both. What else do we have to do?Biggrin
Great idea, Billy!

If it works, it works, and if it doesn't, then it can be changed again. I've got some things I really wanted, and had given up on, with WTB listings. I appreciate the sellers taking the time to check those before listing theirs. On the other hand, sometimes I don't know what I want to buy until I see some guy listing it, and the impulse hits me and bam!Biggrin
