My friend Uwe who works for marketing at Nivea Germany informed me today that they are downsizing the Sensitive line in the coming months and that the Sensitive balm in the Glass bottle is going to be discontinued in favor of their thicker Naturals line.

I use this balm almost exclusively and was devastated when I heard this. That said, what do you all recommend in the $7 to $15 range as a substitute for this balm? I'm looking for a fresh scent with some skin care propeties. I've been favoring Taylor's Shave Creams as of late so I don't need anything too moisturizing.

What do you suggest?

Have you tried Nivea Replenishing balm? I think it is like $6 or so. I have never tried 'Sensitive' so not sure of the difference, but I like the replenishing, especially in the winter.

This news has been out for about 6 months. I recommend stocking up! Hard to beat this balm for what it is. I have 4 bottles and with frequency that I use it, it will take me 24.75 years to finish Biggrin

Yes. The replenishing is being discontinued. That's the one I'm talking about. Sensitive replenishing in the white glass bottle.

Those are two different products:

I asked my friend Uwe, and he did clarify, so it looks like the Replenishing is not being discontinued, so please accept my appologies. Just the Sensitive is being chopped.

Now I have to try some of that...I looked at Target tonight, but no joy... Any Ideas?

BTW...I tried the Razorock Wax, but something in it made me break out on my neck which was very odd.

I've had Proraso, but my wife didn't like the scent...

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I've had the idea to do a drugstore balm comparison... I don't know if I'll get to it soon, but it's on the backburner.

Lately I've seen new aftershave balm products from L'Oreal, Dove Men+Care, and Aveeno. Eventually I'd like to buy & try each of them and do a comparison to Nivea.

Oh dear, I love the Nivea sensitive and just gave my spare, unused bottle to my brother. Still would have, but will need to stock up. Wonder how long it will last in the bottle? This product is one of the very best balms IMO, second only to Speick, and a lot cheaper. I know what I'm shopping for tomorrow Smile

According to my Uwe, it will not affect US Stock for at least 3 months, but all the Sensitve Product has already been pulled from Shelves in Germany in favor of their Naturels Line. The new line has a smaller footprint, and supposedly needs less product to achieve the same results as before. He is sending me some samples, but I won't believe it until i thouroughly test it out.

As someone posted earlier, Walgreens and CVS have a whole google of the product on the shelves...The cashier at one place looked at me like a psycho when I brought up the whole box to buy...I'm getting some Miles on my AMEX card from that buy...lol

If you can get it use a small amount of the creme in the blue jar. The german nivea creme works even better than the sensitive balm in my opinion.

I just bought this at Walmart. Have not tried it yet until I finish my current balm which happens to be Nivea.

Dove Men Post Shave Balm "sensitive" no alcohol. This was under $6
for 3.4 oz 100 mil.

I also have a bottle of Nivea After Shave and it smells just like the Sensitive product, and is not overpowering like some.
