This is easy.

All my 5 Thäter 2-bands in my collection are without a doubt the softest 2-bands I own.

I only have two 2-bands that are really soft. Both are Somerset Simpsons, an Emperor 2 (20mm/48mm) and a Persian Jar 3 (25mm/53mm).

Kent 2009 LE (1 butterscotch and 1 black)
Rooney Stubby (Tortoise ring)
Rooney XL 1, 2 and 3
Rooney Urn (on the BST right now)
Shavemac (Pre 2005)

That's my 8 softest brushes, but 5 styles!

Oops! Just read TWO BAND!

So that eliminates all of those except for the XL series.

Softest two band:

So, I'm assuming they all have the same amount of softness.

No, of course not - they vary in softness 2vikoro

Some are softer than others - but my 5 Thäter 2-bands all are so soft, that I can't even compare them to my other 2-band brushes if I look at softness - they should be compared to the 3-band brushes in my collection.

I owned half a dozen or so Thaters and they were all indeed among the softest 2 bands I have used.

I was speaking of just your Thater two-band brushes when I was asking about softness.

I only have 2 two-bands, both M&F, a Polo style with a 24mm knot and a 1/2. The polo style brush is probably the softest brush of any kind that I own.

They vary in softness depending on loft, knot size and knot shape.
