With another baseball season upon us, it is time to make your pre-season picks. Who will the division winners be? Let's ignore the wildcards for this particular exercise.

My Picks are as follows:

AL East -Toronto Blue Jays

AL Central -Detroit Tigers (although I hope I am wrong)

AL West: L.A. Angels (this will be a very good race)

NL East: Washington Nationals

NL Central: St. Louis Cardinals

NL West: L.A. Dodgers

What are your picks?

I am a White Sox fan so I hope that Verlander steps on a banana peel. Tongue Not really but I do hope that the White Sox overachieve.

World Series Winner- New York Mets Aaaaa (the rest is just rubbish).

Worst team record this season at 0-163? Why the Chicago White Sox, of course. Biggrin (Notice how fast Freddy ducks when Phil tosses that 30 pound haz-mat drum at his head. Laughing1 )

Hey, I was close. What more do you want? It's baseball and Freddy we're talking here. Just be thankful I didn't do those Most Valuable Player and Cy Young award winners. Wink

I know you were. Honestly, Phil, would you believe that I could not tell you the name of a single major league baseball player yet, as a teenager, I used to go to those first Mets games with a friend, sit there with a score book and score the game, even when the team was losing a zillion to naught. The game is not the same as it once was and money is to blame. It has become very corporate.

How true. I can still remember the Brooklyn Dodgers winning their first (and only) World Series in 1955 and the New York Mets winning their first World Series in 1969. I will never feel thrills like that again. Major league sports of all stripes are nothing but big business now so I no longer have any interest in them.

I will go with this except I will pick the Giants for the NL West.
