Is there any interest in a menthol additive that when added to a lather of choice will give a substantial (at ones choice) menthol hit and possibly an enhanced lather? FWIW, I add it to the brush after building a proto lather.

I ask, because I formulated it for myself, but it's quite doable if others want it. It allows a menthol shave to begin early and be extended if a menthol AS follows it. It works with any scent compatible soap or cream to goose the menthol or add menthol where it doesn't exist. It could also be added to any scent compatible AS to give enhanced skin care qualities.

Let me know gents, while it's not anonymous, I'm only looking for honesty; many things I make for myself I never offer to others and never mention them.

Let me know, yay or nay. Makes no difference, just honesty. I don't want to commit scarce resources on a fools errand.

Thanks in advance Gentlemen!

I vote yes! That would be a great addition to any lather.

I started wet shaving with Proraso green. I find that more than sufficient for my menthol needs. Interesting idea though.

I think during the summer months, I could see adding to a couple soaps.
After selling my Vostok, I think Proraso is the only menthol cream I have.

I have some M-Bomb & used it regularly until the novelty wore off. I don't think I've used any for over a year. I think I'm good with your menthol AS.

I also use M-Bomb and have 3½ bottles remaining from a order I placed last year when they had them on sale. I backed off it a bit this past winter, but fully expect to hit it up heavily come July/August.

Sounds like just the thing for a muggy summer morning, but not sure if it will do much since I tend to use a heavily mentholated soap (Mama Bear's Awakening) those days anyhow.

For less mentholated soaps it sounds like a great idea.

In theory it sounds nice, but would be low on my priority list for actually spending money.

There was a time when I was experimenting several shave-related things, and... (oh, wait... I stilll do that... Tongue)

Well, one of the things that I've tried was to put a little dab of 444 into the lather. It worked just like you guys described. It has menthol, so it adds a nice quantity of cooling freshness; and it mainly contains glycerine, so it can be used to enhance your lather.

Of course, it can also be added to your ASL to bring some skin care properties and freezing...

Most of my summer soaps/creams/AS are already mentholated. I also have some M-Bomb that I use occasionally.

I, too, have some "M-Bomb" and find it very effective. Just a drop or two in a non-mentholated soap brings a tremendous chill. And the bottle is lasting a very long time so not sure when I would need more

Brian,
I use the new formulation of M-bomb for just that purpose. The glycerin boosts the lather a touch. But since I will be buying your Menthol aftershave anyway i would purchase this product from you if you had it available. But I am like a lot of other folks and use it more regularly in warmer weather. Whereas your aftershave I can honestly say I will use all year. Because it is just that darn good!

It's in limbo Craig. I have no idea if I'll spend any time on the development and testing.

I'd be interested..

I have a bottle of glycerin spiked with menthol crystals, as well a bunch of AS's and creams I also spiked.

I would love to know more about what you're working on.

OK, when I get the time I'll make a batch and ask for testers. I hope no one is in a hurry though.

Guinea Pig here Brian. Since you posted this thread I've been giving it thought. I really like a menthol blast. The cool feeling when the wind hits you in the face just keeps reminding a fella of his BBS shave... I have been on a menthol run since reading and have decided I REALLY LIKE menthol. The idea of a menthol enhancer is pretty cool...lol (Sorry I had to go there). But kidding aside I think it's a great idea.
