I'm looking to get a SA and noticed that some of the later models have a black plastic piece on the underside of the head. Does this affect performance or resale value? Is it more or less desirable , or does it matter one way or the other? thanks

I've had both the plastic and metal versions and they're the same essentially. No idea if it affects the retail value.

I've tried both and see no difference in performance, I had to keep the metal one since it was my birth year and it was the trend Biggrin

I also have both... the plastic one is a second quarter of 1977, my birth year razor!

The ones having the plastic part are 1977-onwards, the metal ones are the ones made before 1977.

No idea about the resle value, though... I never did care with that, since I have no intention to sell them.

i have to also agree that there is no difference in performance from the two. Good luck.
