My RAD and new found love of slants have put me on the hunt for new razors. Looking for rare, unique, hard to come by slants. Thanks.

GarGuy,
The market for slants is high right now. I just sold two of mine on another forum and a member bought both of them for the listed price within three minutes of posting. Even I was surprised. I could have sold them many times over that day and for more money than I was asking.

The cheapest ones I've seen available on the vintage market were the bakelites on IB, iirc. There were about 25 bucks, right? They were a steal for a NOS slant. Most of the rest in decent condition start at around 40 or 50 bucks and the desirable solingen made ones go for between 100 and 200 bucks. I sold my lunawerks slant for 105 with the case, but am betting it would have gone closer to 200 on eBay.

It's still possible to find deals on them by trolling online sites and getting them from sellers who don't know what they've got, but on the shaving forums everyone knows what they're worth and, more importantly if you like slants, how hard they are to replace. If money is no object, buy one from the forums. If it's a constraint, then antique shops and eBay are your best bet.

I recently sold a vintage Merkur Slant with case for $300usd. So, they are indeed very valuable.

If you want COOL Slants go to Elite Razor web site and order custom handles (Wood,Stone or Resin) on either the standard Merkur 37C or the Long handle 39C and you will easily obtain unique and modified custom versions of the time tested Merkur slants...easy and quick...I ordered 3 various handles and am totally delighted.

I prefer lesser known, not Merkur 37 or 39. 3 piece would be great
