Hi,

Some items that were previously for sale; putting them back up.

Prices are CONUS shipping, if you want it overseas let me know and I can give you a quote.

Also, if you buy multiple items, I will give you a discount.

Item 1: A cased #59.

I purchased this from Mark1966 about two years ago. While it's a #59 case, the razor itself appears to be a Rocket HD. (That is what Mark believed and he knows a lot more about British razors than I do.) The case's interior did not survive the treacherous journey across the Pacific completely intact. The razor itself has a little brassing under the head but is otherwise in beautiful condition. Those of you who enjoy heavy razors will love this one.

I'm asking $65 shipped.

Item 2: Merkur 38C

This was my first DE razor. It's all I used for about a year and a half, I think, until I got a NEW and began my bout of Razor Acquisition Disorder. It's long, heavy, and gives a terrific shave. I find this more aggressive than the 34C. Plating is in beautiful condition.

I'm asking $35.

Item 3: Ranger Tech case, the "D. L. Petersen" edition.

Is your name D. L. Petersen? Perhaps you know a D. L. Petersen who has a Ranger Tech but no case? Maybe you've considered changing your name to D. L. Petersen?

If so, do I have the razor case for you!

I've kind of given up on finding a Ranger Tech so I'm selling the case. The stamp ink has probably been there for 60 or 70 years and is not coming out, don't bother. Other than that, the case is in great shape.

$10 shipped.

Item 4: German Travel Razor ***SOLD***

Krona Kruiser sold me this, and it was one of his first replate jobs. It's a neat little OC razor, shaves like an Old Type.

$12 shipped.

Great #59 set!

To be honest I'm not sure that there is a difference between a Rocket HD and the razor in the #59 set. Some people claim that there is, others not and personally I think I'm now leaning to saying the razor is the same.

The breakage of the lining around the hinge is very common - it is brittle there even in my best set unfortunately. None of which detracts from the shaving capabilities of the razor though.

Seriously IMHO the Rocket HD/#59 is one of the best non-adjustable shavers around. Great heft but beautifully balanced. British quality which, sorry to the Yanks, was the best around at the time, before the German engineering and Japanese precision took over.

If you can't afford a British Aristocrat at $100++ this is a great alternative and probably the best value for money razor out there as far as I'm concerned. At this price it is well worth the investment!

I got my best mate into DE shaving and this is the razor I gave him - that probably says it all

Edit: probably should say that Steve is great to deal with too - no problems there, but you probably already knew that Biggrin

My own research - when I was a big collector - would agree with your leaning, Mark. No difference in the razor and another example of "the case makes the set" by Gillette. I love mine and it's one of the best TTO razors ever.

Steve, best of luck, Sir - nice offerings!
