Hello Friends !!!,
L.O.S.E.R. = Lover Of Single Edge Razors
It's been a little over a month since I won BK's SE PIF... I know I've done it at least a hundred times but Thanks Again Mr. Krampert. Anyone delving into the world of SE's should follow his expert advise. He started me off with the lather catcher and on his advise I worked my way up to the OCMM.

That is the way it should be and anyone looking to begin and is cruising this thread follow this advise. It seems like the OCMM is the most readily available SE out there but IT IS NOT the best representative of SE hardware for a SE NuBee... Life is not ended though. There are a lot of Featherweights, G-Bars, 1912's out there to get your "SE Legs"...(funny huh. just thought of that one..lol).. As professed many times before, using a Single Edge razor takes care of a lot of problems many new wet shavers encounter. Mostly irritation issues. Blade issues are also out. There are only so many blades to choose from. As long as you don't use one made for scrapping paint you will be OK. Yes some work better than others but I have tried 4 different blades and so far I can't really tell one from the other. And I can tell you that you never really had a BBS till you get a BBS from a SE..

One thing that doesn't change is your RAD will remain as per usual.... Take a ride with me and I'll show you what I mean...lol

Won razor lot PIF last December, included were:
3 Valet Auto Strops. One can take a spineless SE blade. The other 2 need special blades which I still haven't ordered.

Purchased E-Bay:
Gem Featherweight.

Won PIF From Shadows Dad in the begining of March, included were:
Gem J-Bar Lather catcher... A really nice thing to give away.
Gem Jr. w/fat handle.
Gem Open Comb MM

Purchased Antique store:
Gem Clog Pruf MM

Purchased E-Bay:
Eveready Shovelhead
Gem Bullet Tip MM
Gem 1912 Damaskeene
Gem G-Bar

So SEE you can still Buy Stuff....lol.... Just remember that those SE razors that are out there are THE ONLY ones. There are no more companies manufacturing these fine razors. I for one have my eye out for a few more SE's and as soon as my wet shave funds build back up to be a threat I will be out cruising the BST's and the Bay for some new acquisitions.

I guess the point of this post is to guide anyone thinking they may want to swing on "The Sharp Side" in the right direction. SE shaving does have a few subtle differences. Good news is you don't have to be a Rocket Scientist to adjust. Do some homework and find the threads related to SE's here on The Shave Nook, and follow directions. Till I got some sound advise I really didn't see the virtues of the single edge and thought of them as a novelty. If you start out right chances are you will become a LOSER and like me sell off your DE collection that you THOUGHT was the best thing since sliced bread.... Hate to say it but my NEW SE collection is the S&!t... IMHO Why kick a mule (DE) when you can ride a Thoroughbred (SE).

So Yes Dad your son is a LOSER and LOVING IT !!! HAPPY SHAVES !!!

I'm glad you're still enjoying the ride SJR!

I would just like to point out that not all lather catchers are mild and considered to be a starter razor for someone new to SE razors. My most aggressive razor by far is a lather catcher, and my others are right up there on the aggression scale (something I just invented). It just happens that the GEM Jr Bar is a very mild razor. There may be others that I'm not aware of. So barring a GEM Jr Bar, which isn't a plentiful razor, the next best noob razors that I'm aware of are the Featherweight, the G-bar, and the Pushbutton, all by GEM.
