If you have read this thread : Edwin/Jagger Sandalwood shaving cream,Im sure that you already know how much I like the Edwin Jagger/Muhle shaving soaps and creams (and brushes, and razors and...Biggrin)

I have tried this cream under the name of Edwin Jagger, but as we already know,Muhle and Edwin Jagger soaps/creams are the same.

This cream,as the other Muhle/Edwin Jagger range comes in two presentations : a 75ml metalic tube, like the Geo F. Trumpers or in a 100ml plastic tub with a,screw lid.

The cream is really thick and too little quantity is needed for make good lather our of it.

This Sea Buckthorn cream has a really smiliar formulation (ingredients) to other well known German shaving creams like Florena,Speick,Kappus or Anne Marie Borlind, but in this case, the cream contains extract of Sea Buckthorn Sea Buckthorn/Wikipedia

Here is its ingredients list :

and here the ingredients of the Edwin Jagger/Muhle Sea Buckthorn shaving soap,if you want to compare each :

As you can read, they're really similar to each other (ingredient list).

Its fragrance is one of my fav of all, with the D.R. Harris Arlington and a couple more. Its a fresh, citrus, fruity scent, perfect for hot days/summer,which is intense enough to last during the whole shave, and even after it.I like it better than some of the Limes scents out there for summer.

To make lather with this cream is really easy : small quantity is needed if you wanna make enough lather for 3 or 4 razor passes. Its not as slick as the english shaving creams (I know that straight razor shavers look for slickness) but its skin care properties are much better,I would say,or my skin says that (I have dry skin).I have never had a bad shave with any of the german creams like the Edwin/Jagger,Speick,Florena,Anne Marie Borlind,Nivea... and for me are superiorin skin care properties than the made in UK (Creightons creations) ones.

This is a cream Im gonna use a lot this spring/summer,alongside Acqua Di Parma (RazoRock XXX Tongue) and a couple other fresh ones.

Hi Teiste

Both the "Aloe Vera" and "Sea Buckthorn" Edwin Jagger shaving creams were a very! pleasant surprise to me (will most definitely get, use them again), but if I had to just choose one of them it would be the "Sea Buckthorn" on scent alone, I Love it...

Take care, Mike

Hi Teiste

Please keep in mind my sense of smell is pretty poor, below is how I documented the scent of Edwin Jagger "Sea Buckthorn" shaving cream:

Quote:... lovely fresh "fruity" scent (reminds me somewhat of fresh peaches)...

Take care, Mike

Haven't tried the cream, but I have the soap, and I love the scent! Currently in my daily rotation. Perfect warm weather scent.

I tried it both soap and cream. It reminded my of Juicy Fruit gum and much too sweet. I am not a big marine, citrus, sweet scent fan to begin with so YMMV. Performance was fine though.

I received a sample of Sea Buckthorn cream and balm and I was quite surprised at the strength of the scent. It's quite a different scent and I'm now considering purchasing in the future.

I use the EJ Sea Buckthorn quite often and really like it. Smells truly nice and gives a decent lather.

Hi - does it have a similar scent to AOS' "Ocean Kelp"? I'm a fan of that scent. I got sort of a light summer fruit sweetness with a flinty saltiness with OC.

I find this somewhat surprising, given that most people describe the smell of fresh sea buckthorn as generallybriny and slightly unpleasant, not at all fruity and nice.

I think the scent in the Muhle Sea Buckthorn shaving cream is from a fragrance oil, and that the sea buckthorn is in there for the skin care qualities is possesses.

I may have to try this. I had the soap, but it's performance and latherability was horrible. The scent is awesome!!
