I only use Krampert's Finest right now, but I'd like a little variety so I'm looking to add a splash or two to my arsenal.

what is known to work well for gents with dry & sensitive skin?

I'm told to stay away from balms with my skin type since it may lead to clogging up my pores.

Speick after shave lotion (ASL). It's a splash, and may be exactly what you're looking for.

One thing I like about Krampert's is it has alcohol and witch hazel. So does Speick which Rob suggested above so it would be worth you checking out.

Andrew, if I ever get a wild enough hair to try another AS other than my beloved Krampert's then it would probably be Speick. Though the Myrsol emulsions do pique my interest some too.

You can give 4711 aftershave a try.

Mild scent that dissipates quickly and it seems soothing but I have normal "rhino hide" for skin.

Since you limit it to splashes and no balms or emulsions, then my recommendation would be Speick After Shave Lotion.

In my limited experience, having dry, sensitive skin, Krampert's is the best and you already have that one.
Otherwise, the Speick as mentioned and Eau d'Emeraude is also fantastic for me.

Another option is witch hazel and Thayer's has a few scented varieties.

thanks for the suggestions.

I may need to look into the balms again, but I've read numerous times to stay away from it if I'm prone to ingrowns, have dry & sensitive skin.

You may want to consider WM Neuman's after shave splashes. They have alcohol, witch hazel, and aloe juice as primary ingredients.

I personally love their 1911 scent.

I think I'll pick up a few samples from them.

Andrew, I have dry sensitive skin and I use two different balms that work great for me. I actually use one of the two everyday, after applying my after shave.

Speick After Shave Balm. This one if my favorite.

Myrsol Emulsion

what do you mean 'after applying my after shave'?

do you apply AS splash and then a balm?

My dermatologist told me no alcohol-based products on my face! And I don't think I have terribly sensitive skin (I do have some nice ruddy/Irish rosacea going on), buts balms for me from now on. If you're looking for a non-alcohol splash, the Lucky Tiger aftershave and face tonic is really nice. It has a citrus scent that is more "mature" smelling (like the "aged citrus of XXX/AdP) and lots good stuff in it.

I often use it during the summer as just a "refresher" post-afternoon sun or after washing my face at night.

Hi Andrew

I stay away from, can't do, "traditional" aftershaves due to their (high) alcohol content, therefore was somewhat hesitant to try Krampert's Finest Bay Rum Acadian Spice, but after speaking with Brian about the alcohol content -- he assured me he used the minimum amount to make the product work -- I decided to give it ago, am very! pleased I did.

Having such a positive experience with Krampert's Finest has now made me want to experience, try DR Harris Pink Aftershave, especially as I really like their After Shave Milk and Arlington Aftershave Milk.

Take care, Mike

Yes I do. I apply the after shave splash for the scent and then the balm. The Speick Balm does not cover up the scent from the after shave.

Look at the RazoRock aftershave lotions. Good stuff in there.

I haven't used them, but I hear good things, and I really like the AS Wax.

Very pricey, but SMN splashes are the best I've tried. They seem formulated to actually sooth, not just be alcohol bombs.

I find that Saint Charles Shave Splashs are very mosterizing and you can't beat the prices. My fav's are the Lime Splash and the Dagger Splash. Check out their website.

My best recommendations would be:

Speick! Always leaves my skin feeling great

TOBS Jermyn Street. Alcohol free, but not too heavy

Razorock lotions: Very similar to the Jermyn, but felt a little lighter to me.
