Now the question is do I use it or not. I posted an ad about wanting to buy this specific brush a couple days ago and within minutes I received a reply about someone having one. Not only did they have one, but they had a brand new one that had never been used. So here it is below and I'm just wondering if I even want to un-box it and use it or just continue using my Semogue SOC and 830. This thing is so beautiful it could be used just as eye candy in my bathroom.

IMO, that's simple.

Are you a collector or a user? The brush was meant to be used and if you aren't worthy of it, just who is?

No timmns, the task of using this brush was meant for you and only you to bear. If you can't complete this task, then no one can. (shades of Lord of the The Rings)

Definitely use it, one of my favorite brushes for sure. Once it's broken in, it's a machine!

Brushes are meant to be used and enjoyed! That's the only way to appreciate their value! Biggrin

+1 Trying new products is my favorite thing to do. You won't know how much you like it unless you try it out. =)

It's not yours until you use it. It's the experience that creates meaning.

If you think it looks great just sitting in your bathroom, I imagine using it!

My thing is I always worry about damaging a brush. I have a Semogue SOC and a 830. The brushes on the bottom flare out a good big and I just don't want to mess them up. Being new at this, I don't really want to waste good equipment.

if you can damage a shave brush by using it for shaving, it's not worth having.

crack it open and lather it. it's not a china figurine, it's a shaving brush and it's meant to be used Wink

don't mash it and you won't have any issues. brushes don't take a lot of pressure to make or distribute lather.

i never understood how someone could damage a quality shave brush by using it.

Dittos. Don't mash it into your face when lathering and it's good to go. Just use the outer 1/3 of the hairs.

I think you might hurt it feelings if you don't use it, poor little guy... He waited days in the mail just to arrive and be loved, only to sit on the counter watching all his brush friends have all the fun! Biggrin

On a side note... Am I the only weirdo who feels that his brushes have feelings? Undecided

I think I will post a pic of my Semogue 830 and let you check out and see if I have tore up this brush. IF not, then I will continue forward with using the new one.
