Has anyone here used Czech Pitralon? It supposedly is similar to the Swiss version, which is very soothing and healing, but is more readily available. Anyone who's used it, what are its general effects and performance? And could you provide an ingredients list? Thanks!

I used to carry the Czech version of the aftershave and shave soap and found it to be very different from the Swiss version. If there is sufficient interest, I may consider bringing it back.

I've tried three different versions of Pitralon, and I prefer the Pitralon Classic that is made in Germany.

bullgoose, what makes you prefer the other versions? Is it scent or performance? And how would you rate them compared to something like three crowns milk?
beartrap, I think shoeboxshop has it.

Definitely scent. The Czech version to me smelled like something you would find at the 5 and dime. I used to carry the soft shaving soap as well as the aftershave splash and just could not abide by the scent. In fact, I stored it in hermetically sealed plastic bins to avoid the scent as much as possible.

I really cannot compare it to three crowns aftershave milk as it is totally different.

Have you ever smelled Pashana after shave? Smells like a weaker version of that. At least to me.

About two months ago, to my surprise, I found out that 4 sorts of Pitralon (not the czech) but the German classic (green), the Austrian original (red) and the Austrian Polar (blue) and the Swiss version in 160ml bottle were available from a Dutch distributor.

About the Czech version, I have read the same comments as Phil did. Not a nice scent.

If you want few, I can send you Pitralon original from Czechoslovakia. I can buy one from local drug store - old fashioned gentlemen still use that for decades. It's very funny to read you discuss about Pitralon across the ocean. :-)

I've never smelled Pashana but to my nose it has an almost light pine,  fir,  evergreen or whatever scent. It's a great scent and excellent performer.

No comparison EJ. It's like comparing canned Barbasol to Barrister & Mann, Shannon soaps,  CRSW,  etc. The Pitralon takes the win IMO.
YMMV

I agree that the Czech version smells very different than the Swiss. To me it smells like WD-40. I kind of like it, but my wife HATES it.

Do they have samples of these out there somewhere?
Is Barbasol bad.
