How often does Classic Shaving release Cobras? Anyone know when the next release is supposed to be?

They're currently out of stock but a fresh shipment is expected from the manufacturer in the next 1-2 weeks. I presume they place a new order whenever their inventory is nearing zero ... ie on demand.

Thanks for the response. I've been checking the site for a while now, but have been out of stock for awhile. Hopefully, I will be able to pick one up from the next batch.

When I spoke to Classic Shave about six weeks ago, they said the Cobra would back in inventory in June

Classic is giving mixed signals when they will have them back in stock. Usually when they run out it takes them several months to re-stock. They are all hand made in a shop for them so production is slow but the quality factor is there. One of the great razors of our time. If it was just a little easier to get blades I would have kept mine.

@slantman - How is it hard to get blades? It seem the blades are sold at many online retailers. It doesn't seem hard to find blades. Or do you mean get them at a cheaper price?

I wonder about these razors so often being out of stock. It should be easy to order enough to keep them in stock. If you look at the price history it has gone up and up in price. I wonder if they are creating an artificial scarcity...or do they really sell out so quickly?

Last week they told me they expected them last week. Then the site said August. Someone told me otherwise. I spoke to someone at Classic on Friday who assured me they were expecting them any day now. I wish another vendor could get these.

They are a proprietary blade which as far as I know only two companies make them (Feather & Kai) so the price is always kept high (supply & demand) . You can get Feathers as low as $12.95 for a cartridge of 20 but you have to hunt them down. This is a wonderful razor don't get me wrong its just a pain to keep blades stocked as compared to double edge which gives you a tremendous variety and much cheaper per blade and shave.

For real? They are in Palm Springs...I'm pretty sure you're joking but it is Monday and I don't do Mondays well.

It is for real. I called them and heard that message. And then visited their site and they have that message on Home page on top

I look at it this way. Even at the higher prices such as $1.20 a blade for the professionals. That is still much cheaper than $3 - $4 a cartridge.

Plus, I have friends in Japan who can get them for me even cheaper. Smile

Strange...I do see that note on their site now that you mentioned it.
Maybe a crazy localized dust storm or maybe b/c it's tax day (?)...

In any case, thanks for the info. I placed an order with them late Friday and was hoping it would ship out today at the latest...looks like it will be going out tomorrow.

I just went on the site at 10:30 PM Eastern and Cobra Classic isn't even listed in the index on the left. I did a search and got CC in deluxe box and clicked on that and got the message out of stock until August.

How did you guys buy a CC on Classic Shaving today?

Now I did a google search instead of a Classic Shaving site search and there it is in stock. Bizarre.

You have to be on their mailing list and then they send you a link to purchase the Cobra Classic. According to a person I spoke with yesterday, if there are extras left over, they will put them up for sale on their website shortly.
