I'd say you did quite well.

If you like the handle and bulb shape, it's a winner

Any idea what the loft is, that may make or break it for you.

Don't know the loft (but it looks usable). I like the handle and the bulb shape, and that I've read great comments of it. I don't own that knot size... it'll be a new experience. Smile

Bad that you beat me out, good that you got a wonderful bowl lathering brush. I was bidding in hopes that it would work for face lathering, but looking at the ratio I am guessing it might be a little soft for my purposes so I left my max bid low so that I could re-sell without loss if needed. Congrats on the win and let us know how it works!

Shavemac 177s in Silvertip with that size knot have sold on the forums and eBay the last couple years for $50-95, so it looks you did quite well. I'll look forward to hearing your impressions after using it.

This one didn't have your name on it, because obviously, something better is on your horizon. Smile I do mostly bowl lather, and I'm expecting good things. Will definitely report back.

Got it. This 177 was a good deal. I forgot that a wire stand was included. That's something I could really use. So far, untested but it'll get a workout today... giving me an excuse to post more later.

I've had the 177, 23mm for over two years now and I love it. A great score and a brush you can't fail to like.
