Is anybody a fan or foe of Perma Sharp blades? I've never tried them.

Razor Blades & More has them at what I think is a good price right now and I was considering buying 100 more blades that i don't need...

From my notes: "Perma-Sharp Super: Sharp, but not smooth. Not a blade I'll buy again."

For me at least there are better blades out there - but as always YMMV.

I like them.

I have been through about 80 of them (Russian cardboard pack) over the last 1.5 years. I find that they are a step down from Feathers and Kai blades, but still plenty sharp. While not as smooth as some others, I don't get any excessive irritation from them. They are my preferred blade in my Barbasol Floating head. At $20 / 100, I think they are a good deal and will buy some again when I have the need.

My favourite blades, along with Gillette Silver Blues!

I rank them smoother and as sharp as Super Iridiums. Smile

What Oversaturn said. One of my favorite blades. I have about 400 of them and rotate them with my Super Iridiums and my Supermax Super Platinums. Very happy with any of these three in my Weber DLC. I saw the deal at RBM and almost ordered some more ! Trying to resist since my 2,000 blade stash of various blades is going to be hard to get through anyway. Rolleyes

From my "Traditional Wet Shaving" Wiki (notes)...

Razor Blades Wrote:Perma-Sharp Super -- Give a (very) good, (very) smooth shave (sharpness "mid"). Blade life = 5 shaves (2 pass shave).

Take care, Mike

The Perma-Sharp Super is my absolute favorite blade. I find it to be sharper, smoother and longer lasting than my second choice, the Super Iridium.

Make sure you get the Russian version in cardboard, not a plastic dispenser.

Good idea. I love Perma-Sharps, especially in a less aggressive razor.

As mentioned before, the Perma Sharps that come in a cardboard tuck are the ones to get. These are among my favorite blades and I find them very sharp, smooth, and long-lasting.

They are good blades; not quite on par with Super Iridiums, for me, but good blades, nonetheless.

A lot of people who like the Super Iridium seem to also enjoy the Perma-Sharp. I find them both similar in terms of sharpness, the Perma-Sharp perhaps slightly ahead but a little less smooth. I just bought some more to boost my stash, I think the high price of Super Iridium's makes the Perma-Sharp Super a great value blade.

I find them the longest-lasting blade

I recently got 12 shaves from one, all other blades I've tried give 4-5 shaves

I put them in my Gillette tech and use Floris shave soap

Interestingly, I'm finding the same results. Sharp, smooth and long lasting.

I'm six shaves into my first one and it's showing no signs of age. Fatboy on 5.

I agree. Perma-Sharps work great for me in a SuperSpeed, Krona or Star DE.
