Hello everyone, I am new to wet shaving and have been reading everything I can, watching videos and trying to learn as much as I possibly can. I am a former electric razor and cartridge shaver, but have always had irritated skin from my daily shave. I just got my Edwin Jagger DE89, Van Der Hagen luxury shave kit, some blade samplers and some soaps from Mystic Waters and Mike's Natural Soaps. I look forward to "meeting" everyone and I am looking forward to learning how to enjoy my daily shave.

Thanks! So far I have tried the Gillette 7 O'clock super stainless, feather and bluebird blades. Still getting my technique down and trying to find the right combo for me.

Wow Ydtrack! DE89, Mikes Natural, Mystic, blade samplers... that's a great start. You must have flown here. I walked.

Congrats.

Might I suggest you try:
Massaging your first lather against the grain and then relathering before your first pass.

Re-wet your skin before each re-lathering.

Try Kiss My Face Lime Shaving Cream

Try face lathering with a tiny boar like a Semogue 1438.

Forget about consecutive BBSes. They will come on their own with practice.

Welcome and have fun!

I guess I have been lurking and learning for a while, so I tried to make an educated jump into the DE world. Just picked up a super speed safety razor s4 and knack razor N 2 from Ebay that I am going to clean up for some vintage shaving gear.
