We use to have a Krispy Kreme here in Wausau and for some unknown reason they closed up and left town. I would have surely used this coupon if they were still here. Loved their donuts.

A number of their shops closed here as well but there is one maybe 5 miles away from my house. I will mark my calendar. Biggrin

Krispy Kreme have to be the worst doughnuts ever! I'll never forget when a friend took me to a newly opened one here in San Diego many years ago. As soon as you walked in the door you were given a free doughnut and then you could go and buy others. My friend bought several. I didn't finish the free one. Truly awful stuff. [Image: sick.gif]

Which kind did you have Freddy? I like their glazed donuts but the others were just way too sweet.

I am not quite sure, Phil, as it was many years ago but they had an "off" taste. Not bad, just not doughnut. We used to have quite a few Vietnamese family run doughnut shops here in San Diego and they could run rings around Krispy Kreme. My favorite doughnuts are the Old Fashion, sometimes called Buttermilk.

Krispy Kreme haven't been available in central NJ for years. We didn't have a store, but you could buy the glazed at groceries and Costco. Then one day they were gone. When we go down to Louisville we hit the Krispy Kreme and coming home we stop at Tim Hortons around Columbus OH. Tim Hortons are good too.

YMMV and all that, but the best donuts can be found at Lone Star Donuts in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas, on Hampton Road.

These aren't doughnuts as far as I'm concerned, just puffed sugar. No wonder diabetes and obesity is on the rise. Ugh. The only healthy component is the hole in the middle.

Didn't say I was going cause they are the best. I'm going cause they are FREE...lol. With 3 hungry kids and a wife you gotta get what you can get. The best doughnuts around here are from Tastee Donuts. So much so that CC opened a store directly across the street from Tastee and the Tastee is still going strong. I too think the CC's are super over sugar coated. But FREE is hard to beat...lol Plus we also have Beignets (For you Yankees it's pronounced ben-yay) down here too. Now THAT is a doughnut. Those and some Cafe au lait will make you wanna slap your doughnut mama...
