Hi lads, Geordie Sam here,
can I please ask you American posters on this site, and any others come to that, the film ZULU is often on the "telly" over here.(strangely at Christmas)I think it's a classic, how often, if ever is it on elsewhere.? I think the music in it is absolutely fitting, and the "chanting" and shield banging rather frightening,(well it was for a 10 year old when I first saw it,with my Father).
Geordie Sam.

Great movie. I probably see it showing three or four time a year over here. We have TMC (Turner Movie Channel) that shows commercial free vintage films, 24/7.

Johnny, don't you mean TCM (Turner Classic Movies)? Here in San Diego TMC stands for The Movie Channel and is separate from TCM. I love Turner Classic Movies. Smile

My wife says you are correct Freddy, it is TCM. I can't keep up with all these different abbreviations. I just know it is channel 45 on my TV. Smile

I have it on DVD and I love the movie! I first saw it on TV and I never forgot it. Now I watch it whenever I wish and it's a few times a year. Just superb! BTW, I have broadcast and it's never shown there.

It's one of the few movies I like to watch over.

Every one keeps banging on about Michael Caine in that movie,I much prefer Stanley Baker's acting in it.
Speaking of Stanley Baker,he was a much under used actor, who never made the "big time" but always played SOLID DEPENDABLE TOUGH BLUE COLLAR type characters.
In real life was a PROUD Welshman and Socialist, while making ZULU they were not allowed to make direct payments to the Zulu "extras" so at Baker's insistance (he was co producer) all the cattle that were used in the movie were given to the local people.
Sam.
