My Futur seems OK and sets at #1. I hope it stays that way.

I know there can be issues with the Progress and the Mergress but I've never read of similar with the Futur.

It probably doesn't make sense with this razor but do you have it set to the #1 when you load the blade and do you load the blade on the base and not the removable top prior to snapping the head on? I guess it's worth a try if you don't do it that way.

Otherwise, you may have a warranty issue. Thankfully, your razor is still under warranty.

Never experienced that with mine, but if it is a big problem for you, you could always return it for a refund. Good luck.

I've had several Futur's, and they've never had that issue (pretty common with the Progress, though).

If it bothers you, I'd also suggest returning it.

I love the Futur - among the best of the modern mass-produced DE razors.

Just a thought, but are you lining up the notch in the top plate with the triangle in the base plate? If not, you alter the amount of threads that it "zeros" out at and it will change your reference of adjustment.

The lining up the triangle and the line is for the Progress, not the Futur.

That said, have you tried a disassembly / reassembly?
It's worth a try before you exchange it.

@dinatali
Remove the headcap and dial your futur to the lowest setting (1.25 I guess). There should be no gap, see picture.

Otherwise you can disassemble your Futur (there are several disassembly tutorials on the net), turn the "blade support platform" 180 degrees and reassamble again.

Good luck!

Got my wires crossed because of all the references to the Progress. I didn't recall that the original razor in question was a Futur. It turns out to be a more similar design than I thought if you can rotate the support platform 180 degrees upon disassembly.
